Joel S. Goldsmith"God must become an activity in our consciousness"
As a young businessman, Joel Goldsmith's father was lying in a hospital dying. Joel visited a friend who was associated with the Church of Christian Science and a prayer was offered to help his father recover. The next day, Joel Goldsmith’s father fully recovered from his illness and Joel went on to become a Christian Scientist. Over the next 15 years, Joel Goldsmith became one of the most successful healers in the Christian Science movement. He eventually left the church to pursue his own beliefs and, in 1947, published The Infinite Way which is widely considered to be his most notable work. Students of the Infinite Way message commonly practice both meditation and healing principles according to the teachings of Joel Goldsmith. |
Goldsmith was also admired for his refusal to charge any money for his healing practices. Bills were never sent but patients and students still sent gifts of gratitude and he eventually acquired large amounts of property, art and monetary gifts with which he supported further causes like The Boy Scouts, summer camps and educational activities. His belief was that the world would advance by lifting it’s level of both education and consciousness.
Eventually Joel studied Sanskrit at Harvard and went on to read thousands of books about enlightenment. Other books were eventually published such as Practicing the Presence and The Art of Meditation which are still widely read today and available from The Infinite Way office in Peoria, Arizona.
The books which came as a result of Goldsmith’s classes still inspire readers from all religions today. They have helped to introduce the practice of mystical meditation and to spread the original messages which were given by both Jesus and the Buddha many centuries ago. The Infinite Way is not a religion or an organization but a powerful message of both healing and spiritual communion with God. |
